As your foundation repair team, we see lots of homes and we catch on to some trends that are emerging. If home renovations or updates are in your plans for 2018, it’s worth considering what the emerging trends are in home decor and interior design. After all, some of the ideas might just be worth snatching up for your own home goals this year, or if you are trying to sell and want get top dollar. Here’s a few of our favorite Colorado home trends that are headed for center stage in 2018.

Warm Tones

That’s right, it might just be the end of griege as we know it. Okay, maybe that’s extreme, but there’s an increased interest in warm tones – whether that’s walls painted a deep sienna or simply bringing warm, rich tones in through the decor choices you make. Maybe it’s got something to do with hygge takeover, but the coziness of warmer tones certainly has its attraction. Test it out with a couple splashes of a warmer palette in one room, or go all out and redo an accent wall.

Embracing Imperfections

Reclaimed wood, asymmetrical lighting, gallery walls with little touches of a handful of different frame style. Imperfection is in, and embracing it could be the key to tying together all those decorating odds and ends you’ve been wondering what to do with for so long.

Plants as Texture

Plants have long been touted as a part of good feng shui. They provide valuable oxygen, they make your space feel more alive, and they add a splash of color. But in 2018, they are being used in a whole new way – as textural accents to your home. Patterned plants are having their moment in the sun (no pun intended) as a great way to add depth and texture to your decor.

Mixed Metals

Metallic tones have been in for awhile, but leave it to the new year to bring a twist to the time-trusted design idea. 2018’s metallic emphasis is all about mixing up those metals. That might mean rose gold paired with gold and silver in different parts of your home, or even just mixed-finishes of the same metallic tone. A brushed gold paired with an antique gold and a classic gold allow you to keep a consistent theme throughout a room without things getting boring.
